Photos of Possible Site of the Proposed Skills Centre in Algonquin Park
This is the view from the southeast corner of the septic tile system at the West Gate. Due north (by the flag pole) is the parking lot beyond the washroom building, which could serve the 'all-season' main building of the proposed Skills Center complex. The view pans east beyond the propane tank .. toward the pump house which is hidden amongst the tees .. then circles to the south and southwest where dense forest grows about a hundred feet beyond the south edge of the tile bed.

Next is the West Gate's pump house. The maintenance drive in the forground runs left (north) to the parking lot, right (south) curving back downgrade toward the pump house and ski trail, and also branches to the southwest behind the septic bed (visible in the previous photo, coming out of the forest south of the propane tank).

Here's the southwest branch of the maintenance drive, heading into the open area south of the tile bed.

Next is the ski trail heading downhill south of the pump house. Indication is that a 'water skills' facility could be located on the shore of Heron Lake and accessed by foot and maintenance vehicles only .. using an improved section of the ski trail to get southeast (left) toward the lake.

Heading east of the pump house is the open area of the hydro and telephone cable right-of-way, including an alternate branch of the ski trail, which branches off to the south and leads toward Heron Lake.
